What is Loss and Death Doula Care?

grief-on-the-streets-good-grief-bristol_

Early in my work as a doula I started gaining experience and training in perinatal and infant loss. This experience lead me to work with 3 Hopeful Hearts in Fort Collins, Colorado on a team of grief companions who responded to any child loss under 25 years old in Larimer County. I have a wide range of experience sitting with, processing, guiding you through end of life arrangements for perinatal, infant, and child death specifically with parents and grandparents. Although I pray that no one ever needs these services, offering these services is in deep commitment with my belief of our interconnectedness in life and death.

Perinatal Loss services often start when you learn your pregnancy is ending, I will walk with you and your family through the processes of loss at any trimester, what medical interventions you might be seeking, and hold remembrance and reflection space. My services include supporting in person through home or facility loss is taking place, visits after the loss for resource sharing and support with any physical transitions your body will go through. Please contact me if you find yourself or a loved one in need of these services.

I currently lead a Pregnancy Loss Support Group at East Bay Birth Collective on the 2nd Monday of the month. This is a drop-in space held for people and their partners who have experienced perinatal loss.

Death Doula services are forthcoming as I am currently enrolled in a death doula training course to expand my loss skills and knowledge to end of life care at any age. Please check back in late Spring 2025 for more details!
